Business Opportunities seminar for Czech companies held in preparation for EXPO 2020 in Dubai

On 12/6/2017, the Business Opportunities seminar for Czech companies was held in preparation for the EXPO 2020 in Dubai. The Moravian and Silesian Region, Regional Chamber of Commerce of the Moravian and Silesian Region, and the Czech Business Council in Dubai organised the seminar.

After the opening speech by Ivo Vondrák, Governor of the Moravian and Silesian Region, and Jan Březina, Chairman of the Regional Chamber of Commerce of the Moravian and Silesian Region, a representative of the Czech Business Council in Dubai, Ondřej Soška, introduced Dubai, presented a vision of the EXPO 2020 project, and described the business opportunities the event presents for Czech companies. He reiterated the terms for participating in tenders associated with preparing for EXPO 2020 and related criteria for the success of Czech companies. An online shopping portal called eSource Portal was also introduced.
The second part of the seminar examined the prerequisites for success in conducting business in the UAE, the specifics of this business environment, and the benefits and risks associated with running a business in the UAE. Participants were informed about Dubai as a business centre and the Czech Business Council in Dubai and its cooperation with Czech Trade were also introduced. The event concluded with a question time presented by participants, and short informal consultations with representatives of specific companies.
