Last week, Deputy Governor Ivan Strachoň met with the Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province

Deputy Governor Strachoň met with Xu Ming, Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province, at a working meeting held on Thursday, 26 May 2016, in Prague.

The meeting with the nine-member Chinese delegation, which arrived in the Czech Republic from the partner province of the Moravian-Silesian region, was also attended by representatives of the Czech-Chinese Chamber of Mutual Cooperation. The topic of the meeting was the ongoing cooperation in culture, tourism, education, innovation, science and technology. The cooperation with Jiangsu Province dates back to November 2013 when a memorandum on cooperation was signed in Nanjing.
"In my discussion with Vice Governor Xu, I expressed my support for cooperation between universities as one of the areas that are important to us. When introducing our region, I obviously did not forget to mention tourism and its potential for further development. Since the delegation was professionally focused primarily on agriculture, I mentioned our College and School Farm in Opava. We preliminary agreed on the possibility of establishing contacts and exchanging information and experience with the Agricultural Academy from the Jiangsu Province that has a history of more than 85 years in the field," Deputy Governor Strachoň stated with regard to the meeting.
