The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ostrava

The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan H. E. Mr. Serzhan Abdykarimov visited the Moravian Silesian Region on the “Business Days of the Eurasian Economic Union” conference.

The main topic discussed at the meeting with the regional president on 6 June was cooperation with the Eurasian region, which is a partner region of our region, although more intense contact has been lacking in recent years. The ambassador has a great interest in restarting cooperation. He sees the Moravian-Silesian Region as a region with great potential and great opportunities for cooperation in many areas. In his opinion, the Czech Republic is one of the 12 priority partners on the global market and therefore Kazakhstan is striving to arrange a visa-free regime with the Czech Republic in the future. Czech technology and in particular the quality of work are highly valued in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan has also been promoting long term cooperation on education – students are keen on searching for Czech universities to continue their studies. Our region has a long tradition in technical disciplines and we can offer a varied range of study programmes.

“I am very happy that the ambassador and I completely agree on the issue of developing the partnership between the Moravian-Silesian region and the West Kazakhstan region. I see Kazakhstan as a country with huge economic potential, something that is particularly welcomed by our entrepreneurs and businesses. I am certain that this will not  be the ambassador’s last visit to our region and the next time he comes, we will plan a programme that will also include a visit to the key companies in our region,” said the Regional President Miroslav Novák about the meeting.
