The regional authority is deemed excellent and awarded the silver national award for quality

The Regional Authority of the Moravian Silesian Region in Ostrava was conferred one of the most prestigious awards in this country for quality in public administration. The National Award for Quality is a part of the Excellence Programme in the Czech Republic. The award was announced by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Quality Council of the Czech Republic and presented to Governor Ivo Vondrák and Director of the Regional Authority Tomáš Kotyza.

Placing second in the nationwide competition, the Moravian-Silesian Regional Authority performed very well in a demanding and complex eight-pillar assessment of the effectiveness and quality of activities of public administration organisations. Assessors emphasised, for example, the regional authority’s management approach towards the entire region, which is based on strategic planning. They also appreciated that every step taken by the authority is well prepared and that its quality management system ensures employees continually improve the services provided to citizens. All these activities are carried out with sustainable development in mind and an emphasis on protecting sensitive data and information. As a modern employer, the Regional Authority is also improving working conditions for its employees and helping them achieve a work/life balance. It is socially responsible organisation that supports and engages in numerous activities outside its statutory duties. It also takes advantage of opportunities and funds outside the Moravian-Silesian Region’s budget for community activities.

“Success in this competition is a prestigious recognition of the entire organisation’s work and results. It also confirms that our activities are heading in the right direction. We wish to thank all our employees for their professionalism, skills and efforts in striving to put a little more into their work duties. We rightfully consider ourselves an exemplary organisation in the field of public administration,” said Director of the Regional Authority of the Moravian Silesian Region Tomáš Kotyza.

“I am honoured to work with an organisation that is considered an excellent public administration institution at a national level by independent assessors. The Regional Authority truly fulfils the visions of the region’s political management strategy. With the efforts of such high-performing people and positive attitudes from our employees, we will be able to achieve these visions much sooner,” said Ivo Vondrák, President of the Moravian Silesian Region.

In addition to the Successful Organisation award, the Moravian Silesian Regional Authority was presented an international Recognised for Excellence 4 Star certificate.
