Visit to the partner region of Veneto

By invitation of the Minister of Culture, City Planning and Security for Veneto, Cristiano Corazzari, a delegation from the Moravian-Silesian Region headed by First Deputy Governor Lukáš Curylo visited this partner region on 6–7 March 2019 with the aim of extending current cultural cooperation and learning more about developing tourism in protected mountain areas.

The tourist and transport infrastructure of the Cortina d’Ampezzo mountain resort was inspected on 6 March, and negotiations with President of the Belluno province Dr. Roberto Padrin, who is also head of the tourist facilities in Belluno, was held in the afternoon in the town of Longarone. Dr. Padrin explained the principles of cooperation between public institutions and the private sector in constructing and administering tourist infrastructure, promising cooperation in this area involving two Italian experts. He also expressed his support for cultural cooperation.

On the 7 March, more negotiations took place in Venice at the seat of the regional government, where our delegation was received by Director of the Department for Culture and Sports of the Veneto Region Dr. Maria Teresa De Gregorio, and the Responsible Secretary of the Office of Cristiano Corazzari Dr. Edda Battistella, who excused Mr. Corazzari’s absence because of urgent commitments related to preparations for the Italian President’s visit to the region. During the discussion, both parties agreed to support the existing cooperation between the Silesian Theatre in Opava and conductor F. da Ross, and potential preparations of joint projects that may be supported by European Union funds. Cooperation in regional folk culture was seen as especially promising.
