Current information about the Coronavirus desease (COVID-19) in the Region

Exceptional measures and recommendations in the Moravian-Silesian Region to protect the population and prevent the risk of developing and spreading COVID-19 disease caused by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.

We demand inhabitants of the Moravian-Silesian Region who have returned from all areas at high risk of transmitting coronavirus to contact their GPs by telephone immediately, to stay in quarantine and not to endanger other citizens.

We also oblige all passengers travelling by public transport to wear masks, or cover their mouth and nose by any means available, until April 1 and we urge all citizens to wear masks in public.

  • The Regional Authority of the Moravian-Silesian Region is closed to the public, with the exception of the filing office - personal filing is still possible on Monday and Wednesday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
  • Public buses in the Moravian-Silesian Region run according to holiday timetables and are free of charge
  • In order to protect public bus drivers, the Region has banned boarding through the front door

  • The government introduced the obligation to wear respiratory protective equipment in public from March 19
  • In order to protect public health, the Ministry of Health has ordered a maximum of two persons to stay in places open to public since 25 March
  • As of 16 March 0:00 restrictions on the free movement of people are in place throughout the Czech Republic, except precisely specified cases
  • From March 14, 2020 to April 11, 2020 all shops are closed except for shops selling foodstuffs, sanitary and drugstore goods, pharmacies and others
  • The government set aside time for grocery shopping for seniors over 65 years and handicapped people every day from 08:00 to 10:00 a.m.
  • Schools have been closed
  • Visits to hospitals and social facilities have been forbidden
  • The total number of isolation beds in the hospitals in the Moravian-Silesian Region is 146
  • Since Monday, March 16, the Czech border has been closed
