The Native House of J. G. Mendel in Hynčice

On 20 July 1822 Johann Gregor Mendel, the future founder of genetics was born in house no. 69 in Vražné-Hynčice. The information centre and the museum are situated in the reconstructed farmstead with an exposition on the life and work of this important thinker. The native house of Johann Gregor Mendel in Hynčice is an important cultural monument. The entire complex of the farmstead became the “Tourist Centre of the Moravian Kravaře Countryside Region” after its reconstruction.
