Frýdek-Místek Chateau

The original Gothic castle which was built on a promontory on the right bank of the Ostravice River. In the past it underwent many re-buildings and completions. The Knight Hall which is decorated with coats of arms of the Silesian aristocracy stands above all the chateau interiors. The chateau houses the Museum of the Beskydy Mountains of Frýdek-Místek. It offers several expositions to visitors, e.g. the Beskydy Mountains - Nature and People, Frýdek - the Marian place of pilgrimage or the chateau tour. The museum moved to the areas of the Frýdek Chateau in 1960.
